OOC: Continuities

The game is nearly underway!

One change with regard to character creation: New characters may still hail from other time periods/locales, but for the sake of manageability I'm asking that players either provide me with a really enticing background and concept or offer a character that comes from one of the established continuities listed below.

1) 1924 - British Raj in India - Archaeological mystery focused on the ancient city of Mohenjo-Daro. Characters will move amongst the bazaars, cantonments, and temples of India under British rule.

2) 1924 - Manhattan - High society and the occult mix in the ballrooms and back alleys of swinging Manhattan Island.

3) 1876 - Arizona Territory - The grandeur of the legendary West and Manifest Destiny collapse upon themselves in a landscape of wild beauty and moral decay.

4) 1948 - Virginia & New Mexico - In the aftermath of World War II, America's Pax Atomica heralds a new modernity populated by UFOs, radioactive wastelands, and the spectre of the Cold War.

OOC: What can I expect in this campaign?

Giving nothing away, this campaign will move something like this:

I - Player blogs. When players are prepared to play, they should make a post titled 22 April (see Guidance for Creating Characters). Notify me by e-mail and I'll respond ASAP.

II - Introductory exploits. I'll bring each character (or group of characters) into play with an individualized introductory storyline.

III - Character meetings. Characters who share timelines (for instance, two characters from the 1920s era) will be drawn together by the results of the introductory storyline. The process of bringing together characters who inhabit separate timelines will take more time - but it will begin at about the same time.

IV - Larger Campaign. As characters meet and interface, the problems of the overarching storyline will begin to become clear to them. This is when things really start moving . . .
